Morocco calls upon expats in UK to seize investment oportunities

London - Delegate Minister in charge of the Moroccans Living Abroad Mohamed Ameur called upon the Moroccan community in the UK to seize the investment opportunities offered by Morocco.

Speaking at a conference on investment opportunities offered by Morocco to its community living in the UK, Ameur shed light on the large-scale development projects launched in the Kingdom, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI.

On this occasion, he invited Moroccan expatriates to contribute to build a modern Morocco, adding that members of the new generation of the Moroccan community in the UK have excelled in fields relating to offshoring, and information technologies.

The conference, co-held by Morocco’s Embassy in London and the Ministry in charge of the Moroccan community living abroad, was meant to highlight investment opportunities offered by the Kingdom, notably in the Oriental and northern regions.

Participants to the event were informed about several incentives offered by the government to encourage Moroccan expatriates’ investments.

On the other hand, Morocco's Ambassador to the UK Chrifa Lalla Joumala Alaoui underlined, on Thursday in London, the key role Moroccan expatriates can play in promoting Morocco's development.

"The Moroccan government has placed priority on promoting the active involvement of Moroccan expatriates as development partners,” the Ambassador said at the opening of a conference on investment opportunities offered by Morocco to its community living in the UK.

On this occasion, Chrifa Lalla Joumala Alaoui commended the inclusion of this community in national development strategies with a view to contributing to Morocco’s prosperity.

The conference, co-held by Morocco’s Embassy in London and the Ministry in charge of the Moroccan community living abroad, “evidences the increasing importance given to Moroccan expatriates in the UK and represents a recognition of the role they can play in our country’s development,” she said.

The Ambassador noted that the conference is the first step towards facilitating a regular and permanent exchange between political institutions and the Moroccan community living in the UK.

The event provided information to Moroccan expatriates about several investment incentives offered by the government and banks to foster Morocco’s investment opportunities, she added.

The Ambassador also shed light on several mega projects launched in Morocco under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI in order to make of the Kingdom a modern and democratic society.
